: (1) Multimodal transport operators, after entering into a multimodal transport contract with the consignor to transport the goods, may enter into an agreement with any other person regarding the transport of goods without prejudice to the terms of the contract.
(2) A multimodal transportation operator shall not be exempted from the liability under Section 17 for having contracted with any other person in accordance with sub-section (1) and transported the goods accordingly.
